Partida: A Class Act at the
Manhattan Cocktail Classic

During
the weekend of October 3rd, bartenders, mixologists, cocktail
enthusiasts and premium spirits companies descended on New York for the
first-ever 2009 Manhattan Cocktail Classic.
The unforgettable weekend featured educational seminars at the Astor
Center (New York's leading food, wine and spirits event space) and
NYC's best cocktail bars — led by some of the biggest names in the
cocktail industry including Dale DeGroff, Doug Frost, Allen Katz, Steve
Olson, Paul Pacult, Gary Regan, Julie Reiner, Audrey Saunders, Andy
Seymour, and David Wondrich — parties and a Sunday Night Gala at the
New York Public Library.
Steve Olson led a lively and educational seminar called 'The Agave
Session: The Magical Elixirs of Mexico.' Attendees tasted nine
tequilas, including Partida Blanco, and learned about the history and
origins of agave-based spirits.
On Sunday evening, everyone donned their best evening attire and headed
to the New York Public Library's majestic Astor Hall for three hours of
dancing and jazz by Vince Giordano's Nighthawks, dining and cocktail
sipping from twelve separate amazing bars. Partida's own Jacques Bezuidenhout
was behind one of the featured bars making a delicious drink called the
"212," made with Partida Reposado, Aperol and fresh grapefruit juice. A
great time was had by all who attended the weekend, and Partida is
looking forward to participating in the May Manhattan Cocktail Classic.
