We sat down with Mac Gregory, Director of Food & Beverage at The Phoenician in Scottsdale, Arizona. Gregory has designed a luxury
collection of spirits for The Phoenician, a AAA Five Diamond resort set amid 250 acres
at the base of Camelback Mountain. He is also the contributor for this month’s Partida
Cocktail: the "Silvestre Suizo Sueco," which translates from Spanish as "Wild Swiss
Swede," a reference to the two main ingredients — wild grown Swiss Eidelvise and
Lingonberries.
Silvestre Suizo Sueco
2 oz Partida Reposado Tequila
¼ oz Elderflower Liqueur
Lingonberry Puree
Fresh squeezed Kaffir Limes and Cane Sugar
Sweetened Meyer lemon juice
Mix all ingredients in a blender cup with ice. Chop all ingredients and pour into 16 oz margarita glass half rimmed with sea salt. Garnish with floated lingonberries and one elderflower.

Suizo Sueco. What kind of cocktail is it?
The Silvestre Suizo Sueco is made from wild Swiss
Eidelvise and wild Swedish Lingongberry. They are made
into a puree and blended with Partida Reposado, and then
poured on the rocks with a sea salt rim, producing a
lavender color. It has a sweet, yet tart taste and is very
refreshing. We’ve been serving it all year, and guests love
it. Although not too sweet, it is made for a discerning
palate. It has the same impact as lemonade, but you can’t
put your finger on it. It’s almost like a sweet and sour
chardonnay blended with Partida.

Think Pink Cocktail
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Ortanique on the Mile
featured a special pink cocktail where a portion of the proceeds will be donated to support breast cancer research. Inspired by Bill Turner's Watermelon Cucumber Martini, the Watermelon-Cucumber Cooler is the ideal cocktail to sip on while enjoying the warm Miami atmosphere and showing support for a great cause.
Watermelon-Cucumber Cooler
2 oz Partida Blanco Tequila
¾ oz Partida Agave Nectar
2 oz fresh watermelon juice
1 oz fresh skinless cucumber
Juice of fresh squeezed lime
s
Juice of fresh squeezed lemon
Muddle ice, cucumber & watermelon. Add remaining ingredients. Shake well and pour into glass over fresh ice. Garnish with citrus twists and cucumber round.

VIPs Sip on Partida Tequila at Fashion Show
On September 26th, Image Magazine held their annual "Fall Outta Bloom" fashion show at Beta Nightclub in the downtown district of Denver, Colorado. Partida sponsored a table in the trendy and glitzy VIP area, which featured performances by DVDJ Funk and Manufactured Superstars. Attendees commented on the smoothness of the Partida Tequila Blanco.
Patrons Get First Hand Tequila Education Experience in Chicago
On October 15th, Adobo Grill, a Mexican restaurant in Wicker Park, hosted a private dinner for its guests, with Partida Tequila as the exclusive tequila served at the event. Alex Fowler, Partida’s Chicago Bartender Ambassador, educated guests on the tequila phenomenon and the rich culture of Partida Tequila. Guests selected from the Partida Margarita, Sunrise con Partida, and Melodia de Sabor.
Best Southwestern Restaurant Hosts Culinary Experience Using Partida
Agave Restaurant, in collaboration with United Distributors, hosted their annual Partida Tequila dinner on September 30th. Named the “Best Southwestern Restaurant” in Atlanta, owner Jack Sobel and executive chef Richard Silvey prepared the five-course culinary experience, featuring all three marques of Partida Tequila for tasting. Over 70 patrons, including Sofia Partida and Bartender Ambassador Navarro Carr, were in attendance.
LoftLife Magazine Celebrates Winter Issue with Partida Tequila
Partida Tequila was the exclusive liquor for the LoftLife Magazine party, which celebrated the launch of their second issue on October 9th. Held at Space Modern, a furniture boutique in Midtown Atlanta, over 250 guests sipped on four choices of Partida Tequila cocktails – our signature Partida Margarita, Tequila High Noon, Paloma, and a Tequila Honeysuckle with cucumber. The Margarita was a favorite among the crowd, which consisted of individuals from the design community and young professionals in the area.
The second event was held on October 10th at Aqua Midtown, a luxury condominium in the heart of Atlanta. Partida Tequila cocktails were served on a rooftop bar, located in the pool patio area of the complex, with over 100 guests. Additionally, Tequila High Noon cocktails were served in a 2 bedroom unit, viewable by guests.
LoftLife Magazine also included two Partida Tequila ads in its latest issue.
Beverly Hills Rent-a-Car Concierge Appreciation Party
Partida Tequila “arrived” at the Concierge Appreciation Party, hosted by Beverly Hills Rent-a-Car on October 3rd. Partida’s Master Mixologist Damian Windsor and his staff of bartenders served various cocktails using all three Partida Tequila marques. Attendees consisted of over 150 concierge members of deluxe hotels throughout Los Angeles and Orange County. Beverly Hills Rent-A-Car is the exclusive provider of high-end luxury vehicles in Southern California.

Martin Yan Favors Partida Anejo
On September 22nd, more than 120 guests attended a special preview of Tivoli Village , a luxury development at Queensridge Shopping Center in northwest Las Vegas. Tres Agaves Restaurant, one of the tenants, served Partida Tequila at this exclusive event. Martin Yan, legendary chef and host of PBS’ “Yan Can Cook,” mentioned how much he loved the Añejo when he sampled the tequila. Yan will also open his own restaurant, 9 Dragons, at Tivoli Village. The luxury development is set to open in Fall 2009.
Tony Sandoval Introduces his Bay Area Audience to the True Spirit of Tequila
Partida partnered with Mexicana Airlines and Presidente Intercontinental Hotel to offer listeners a special "Partida Tequila Tour" around the San Francisco Bay Area. 98.1 KISS FM DJ Tony Sandoval hosted 3 Partida Tequila tastings at Branham Lounge in San Francisco and Consuelo Mexican Bistro in San Jose. Guests sampled each of the Partida Tequila marques and the Partida Margarita. 98.1 KISS FM conducted a special sweepstakes, where one lucky customer will win a 3-day getaway to the Tequila Valley and experience first hand the Tequila way of life.

ARENA BAR
Four years ago, owners John Brito and Antonio Rodrigues purchased a 3-story corner bar in hopes of establishing a part-pub, part-lounge in Newark. After nearly $1 million in renovations, the Arena Bar and Lounge has become a house for fans coming from games at the Prudential Center, while accommodating executives during lunch and after-work hours.
The Arena Bar offers more than 50 martinis, with Partida Tequila as one of its top-shelf tequila brands. They’ve included the Blanco, Reposado and Añejo bottles in their drink menu. Mixologist Dalio Calado, who helped set up their beverage program, is a big fan of Partida Tequila, especially our classic Partida Margarita.

Harvey Nichols Hosts UK Partida Tasting
Inspirit Brands hosted a tasting session at the Harvey Nichols Bar at the top of the Oxo Tower, London on October 7th. Henry Besant, founder of the Worldwide Cocktail Club, conducted the tasting, which educated Harvey Nichols staff and other bartenders on Partida Tequila. Harvey Nichols, a premier retailer of luxury goods with restaurants in each of its locations, is the leading retailer of Partida Tequila in London.

Partida Cocktail Module With The Morgans Hotel Group
The Worldwide Cocktail Club conducted the first training of the new Partida cocktail module for the prestigious Morgans Hotel Group at St. Martins Lane Hotel on October 21st. Employees from The Sanderson Hotel and St Martin’s Lane learned about Partida Tequila’s history, production process, and taste comparisons with other premium tequilas.

SPINNING THE CLASSICS

“One of the hottest trends in cocktails nowadays is a personal influence on classic recipes. Whether it’s a Pineapple Mojito or a Strawberry Daiquiri, the goal is the same—to recreate a legend. First off, always remember these are classics for a number of reasons; sometimes it’s the region (Pisco Sour), trendy celebrity influence (the Cosmo), availability of ingredients (the Martini), simplest (Tom Collins).
There are romantic stories of the development and correct recipe for just about every cocktail on the planet. I usually trust the oldest written record, this sometimes will shed new light on accepted lineages of cocktails. Nowadays we have a lot more to work with so be creative. You can make a well handcrafted Apple Martini and Strawberry Daiquiri if you know what you’re doing. You can call it whatever you like that fits your theme. So go forth and spin the classics but stand behind every libation you create. Salud!”
