Partida Tequila Receives Top Scores in Ultimate Spirits Challenge

Partida is honored to receive the top aggregate score in the tequila category among 64 brands entered in the inaugural Ultimate Spirits Challenge. Led by America's leading spirits expert F. Paul Pacult, the extremely intense four-stage competition took place over three days at the Astor Center in New York City. The rigor and integrity of the judging process were unparalleled in the world of spirits competitions. The distinguished panel of judges for the competition included spirits luminaries F. Paul Pacult, Sean Ludford, Dale DeGroff, Andy Seymour, Steve Olson, Doug Frost, James Conley, Ethan Kelley, Audrey Saunders, David Wondrich and Gary Regan.

Partida Reposado (aged 6 months) and Partida Elegante Extra Añejo (aged 36-40 months) were both awarded 94 points, translating to an "Extraordinary/Ultimate Recommendation." Partida Blanco (unaged) received 92 points and an "Excellent/Strong Recommendation," and Partida Añejo (aged 18 months) received 86 points, "Very Good/Recommended."

The Ultimate Spirits Challenge is the latest in a string of awards and accolades won by Partida Tequila. "We are proud that Partida Tequila continues to score the highest across all brands of premium tequila," said Gary Shansby, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Partida Tequila.

Tramonto by Naren Young

"The Tramonto is perfect for summer, a beautiful color and so easy to drink," says Naren. He creates this delicious cocktail (which means "sunset" in Italian) at popular restaurant Locanda Verde in New York City. "Naren's cocktails are subtle and sophisticated with multiple layers," said Dave Singh, Director of Brand Development for Partida Tequila. "He has this deep understanding of spirits and unique style of mixology, meaning his cocktails really become an expression of the spirit."

Ingredients:

1.5 oz of Partida Reposado Tequila 3/4 oz Aperol
1/2 oz Solerno
3/4 oz Fresh Grapefruit
2 dashes orange bitters
Shake and strain.





The Bertha by Jonathan Pogash

This new cocktail is served at The Empire Room in the Empire State Building. Jonathan, who is the United States Bartenders' Guild New York Chapter President, created this cocktail based on a recipe by Dona Berta from Bertha's Bar in Mexico.

1.5 oz of Partida Reposado Tequila
3/4 oz Fresh Grapefruit Juice
3/4 oz Fresh Lime Juice
1/2 oz Homemade Grenadine**
Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and strain into an ice-filled rocks glass.
Garnish with a grapefruit twist.


**Homemade Grenadine: Boil until dissolved equal parts POM and white sugar. Chill, and add several drops of orange flower water to taste.

The March issue of Modern Luxury Dallas includes a great review of the new local hotspot Dish. The review highlighted the Pink Taco Cocktail made with Partida Blanco, grapefruit juice, X-Rated Fusion Liqueur and Red Bull.



British Esquire Names Partida an "Excellent Spirit"

The March issue of the British version of Esquire Magazine includes Partida Tequila as a "Best Tequila" in the Inquire/Drinks section. The article notes that "if you are parting with 60 quid, it needs to be for something pretty special."





New York Magazine Singles Out Partida at Cabrito on Carmine


On March 15th
New York Magazine ran an article called "Booze Monogamy" about popular New York bars featuring a particular spirit. Cabrito on Carmine Street was noted for serving premium tequila such as "barrel-aged añejos like Partida."





The New York Post Reports on Celebrity Cocktail



The New York Post reported on March 28th that actress Drea DeMatteo only uses fresh ingredients and Partida Reposado in her classic margarita, "The DeMatteo" now featured at The Anchor Bar in NYC.

In the April issue of
Four Seasons Magazine Nick Passmore, wine & spirits expert, described seven of the best tequilas, including Partida Añejo & Partida Elegante. According to Passmore, the Añejo shows "smooth, elegant harmony" while the Elegante is "by far the most subtly complex tequila (he has) ever tasted."

On March 7th JustLuxe.com featured an article on Partida Elegante, crediting the spirit with "distinctive elegance" as it is made strictly adhering to very high standards. The story compared the Elegante as being "more similar to a fine cognac than your stereotypical tequila blend."

On March 9th ArizonaFoothillsMagazine.com prepared its readers for hot Arizona summers filled with margaritas. On March 12th Cookingmela.com aired a video recipe for the "Mexito," a perfect blend between a margarita and mojito made with Partida at the Mission Restaurant & Bar in downtown Scottsdale, AZ.



Examiner.com Reports Partida's Top Rated Scores at The Ultimate Spirits Challenge



On March 16th Tequila Examiner Ryan Kelley reported the top rated tequilas and mezcals from the Ultimate Spirits Challenge. Partida Elegante & Reposado gained the distinction of "Extraordinary/Ultimate Recommendation," while Partida Blanco received an "Excellent/Strong Recommendation."

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Dallas on Sunday, May 2nd at Vickery Park. Starting at 4 pm, the staff will be grilling on the patio barbecue and serving Partida Margaritas all day long. Live music in the outdoor space will continue throughout the night.




Learn about Mexico's History and Tequila at the Manhattan Cocktail Classic



Along with co-sponsors Yerba Buena and the Gourmet Latino Festival, Partida Tequila will take guests on a journey in "The History and Evolution of Tequila, North America's First Distilled Spirit," on Monday, May 17th from 3-5 pm as part of the Manhattan Cocktail Classic. Celebrate Gastronomy and Culture at the Gourmet Latino Festival

The first-ever Gourmet Latino Festival, will take place in New York from June 4th-12th. A mixture of renowned Latin chefs, mixologists and tastemakers will convene to share cuisine, cocktails, wines, coffees and more from Latin countries. Look for Partida, which will be sponsoring events throughout the festival.

Partida a Favorite at South Beach Food & Wine Festival


On Friday, February 26th, Jacques Bezuidenhout led a tasting of Partida Tequila cocktails at the By Invitation Only event for American Express Gold Card members at the South Beach Food and Wine Festival . The daytime tasting was held at the posh Gansevoort Hotel in South Beach, where Jacques created such crowd-pleasers as the Añejo Margarita, Passionada and Partida 55.

Partida Showcased at "A Slice of Latin America"

450 guests sampled Partida Tequila at the Plaza Hotel in New York on Wednesday, March 10th for the 10th Annual Slice of Latin America. Renowned chefs presented Latin-inspired cuisine at the Gala Fundraiser for the Committee for Hispanic Children and Families.



Love Hate Lounge Celebrates Third Birthday

The Love Hate Lounge in South Beach celebrated their third anniversary on Friday, March 19th. Partida was a sponsor of the party at the popular Miami spot, where delicious cocktails were created.



Market Fresh Cocktails at Twin Liquors in Austin

Twin Liquors Marketplace in the Hancock Center in Austin hosted a hands-on Market Fresh Cocktails program on Saturday, March 27th from 3-4 pm. Staff and consumers were taught how to make cocktails with fresh ingredients and purees using Partida Tequila.

Partida Tequila Sweeps the South

The staff at La Cantera Westin in San Antonio learned all about Partida with Texas Regional Manager Charlie Garza at Aldaco's Mexican Restaurant on February 22nd. The resort promotes Partida exclusively on all menus and offers small bottles in each resort room. Guests attending the afternoon seminar included Westin Sommelier Steven Krueger, bartenders, servers and banquet personnel from the resort.



The newest restaurant to feature Partida Tequila in Florida is Manatee Island Bar and Grill, located in Port Salerno. The restaurant is located right on the water and features the Partida Skinny Margarita, made with Partida Blanco. The chef suggests pairing the cocktail with Margarita Mussels.

The Southern Wine & Spirits Dade sales team in Florida attended a Cocktail Clinic with Marita Leonard of Partida on Friday, March 26th. The cocktails created in the clinic included the St. Rosemary, Cucumber Watermelon Martini, Mika-Rita, Black Opal and Jalisco Snow.

Welcoming Ulises Méndez to the Tequila Partida de México Sales Team

Partida is proud to welcome Ulises Méndez as their new Regional Sales Manager in Los Cabos. Ulises has been involved in the wine and spirit industry for more than 15 years and he brings with him an extensive knowledge of wine and tequila education as well as strong experience in on-premise operations. Ulises is a member of the Cabo chapter of the "Academia Mexicana de Catadores de Tequila, Vino y Mezcal" (Mexican Academy of Tequila, Wine and Mezcal Tasters). He also has played a very important role in promoting Cabo's restaurant industry, participating in CANIRAC (National Restaurant Industry Chamber) as president for the municipality of Cabo and the state of Baja California Sur. Vinicio Estrada, President, Tequila Partida de México, said "the addition of Ulises to the team will elevate even higher the great positioning that Partida has enjoyed in Cabo." Bienvenido!
